History
Sports brooms began to develop as soon as they reached the broom level of development at which flyers can turn and change the speed and pitch. Early wizarding paintings give an insight into the early sports brooms.
The famous annual race on brooms in Sweden began to take place in the 10th century. Competitors race from Kopparberg to Arjeplog (the distance between the two places is 480 kilometers). The famous painting Günther der Gewalttätige ist der Gewinner ("The winner is Günther Violent") shows an old German play Stitchstock. At the top of the tower six meters high stand, inflated dragon bladder. One player was in charge of keeping the bladder, while other players should pierce the bubble tops specially sharpened broom. Screen defended bubble magic wand. The game is ended when someone punctured the bubble, when the guard bladder jinxing the broom all the other players or if I guard collapsed from exhaustion.
Other games in the old brooms were: aingingein, shuntbumps and swivenhodge
Quidditch also began to develop from a simple game on broomsticks, with players who have each other adding a leather ball, balun, which were trying to infiltrate into goals on opposite sides of the field. Soon they were in the game and added the precursors maljaca, mrvitelji. The introduction of the Golden Snitch in the game happened to be under the influence of other "sport" hunting zvrkavice, small and fast magical birds. In 1269 the presiding judge wizard, Barberous Bragg, at a Quidditch match he let zvrkavice and offered 150 Galleons (modern equivalent would be a million Galleons) player who is caught. Later, in honor of the event, the team that caught zvrkavicu received an additional 150 points. Over time, zvrkavice become an endangered species and is Bowman Wright invented the Golden Snitch, which replaced zvrkavice. This event marked the birth of today's Quidditch, which began to develop three hundred years before that in the swamp Queerditch.
